Oak cabinet with two tambour doors and internal shelves. Made by Edsby Verken, Sweden, in 1963. Original manufacturer's mark present.
Manufactured by Edsby Verken in 1963, this cabinet interprets the rational approach that characterized Scandinavian office design in the early 1960s. The two tambour doors slide completely within the structure, allowing access to the storage compartments without taking up front space. The handles are carved directly into the wood using simple horizontal grooves, while the black lacquered base creates an elegant contrast with the warm oak tone. The original manufacturer's mark is accompanied by the S.K.N. (Statens Kontorsmöbelnormer) stamp, certifying compliance with Swedish standards for office furniture, and the Avsynad test stamp, dated April 1963. Good condition. May show signs of age.
