Teak throughout, low … Read more A matching pair of Scandinavian storage pieces from the 1960s, stamped Ulferts, Tibro, Sweden, inside a drawer. Teak throughout, low format, beautifully judged proportions.

The sideboard has two doors with integrated recessed handles and a single continuous storage space behind. The chest carries four graduated drawers with the same recessed pulls. Both stand on slim tapered legs of identical section and share the same top height, so placed side by side they read as one continuous low run of 162 cm - which is how they were built and how they were used.

They were made as a set, and the proof is in the detail: on each piece the side veneers do not match perfectly left to right, because each carcass was finished to be seen from one side only. Sold together, that is provenance rather than a fault. They also work perfectly well apart.

The chest has a lock but no key; it no longer locks, and the drawers run normally.

Good overall condition throughout, with an even patina and light marks consistent with sixty years of domestic use. This piece has an attribution mark,
