The boat-shaped top, wider at the centre and softly tapered at both ends, is what gives the piece its character: it seats up to ten and still reads as light in a room, because there is no apron and no visible hardware. The colour is unusually warm for a table of this size, and it sits as easily with modern chairs as with older rush-seated ones. Please note this is a heavy piece; two people are needed to move it.
