Hans Mendler
1971–76 Studied at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design (under Hugo Peters, Horst Bachmayer, and Gunter Böhmer), and 1973–75 studied German literature at the University of Stuttgart.
“In his new paintings, he focuses on the power of the colored line, which he creates intuitively and with a light, circular hand, squeezing the paint tubes onto the canvas with his entire body. This results in more or less dense, multicolored, ornamental networks of lines, from which faces, limbs, animals, and rudimentary landscapes gradually emerge” (Christina Ossowski).
