A louis xvi style commode, stamped "gaston boulay 1984," crafted from solid cherry wood with an oak back.
it features four drawers—two small ones at the top and two large ones at the bottom—hand-joined with dovetail joints. The drawers are framed with gilt brass stringing and trim; the handles are bronze with neoclassical medallions depicting faces. The tapered, fluted legs, typical of the louis xvi period, terminate in cylindrical brass sabots. The side supports are fluted. The rectangular top with gently rounded corners is made of polished solid cherry wood.
the entire piece has been stripped and revarnished. Keys and locks are functional. Impeccable condition.
