The Calacatta marble top has been repolished with a matte varnished finish.

The Knoll company, founded in 1938 by her husband, owes much of its success to Florence Knoll (1917-2019): she was the one who incorporated furniture designed by architects (Eero Saarinen, Mies van der Rohe, etc.) into the American firm's collection. An architect herself, she offered her own interpretation of minimalism and rationalism in her furniture, as illustrated by her conference table and various sideboard designs from the 1960s.
