A ladder from the late 19th century from France.
The Oriental style was popular during this period.
These ladders were skillfully turned by a cabinetmaker from beech wood, but designed to resemble bamboo.
Faux Bamboo.
They were primarily sent to private libraries to reach the top shelf.
The handle for hooking onto this ladder is missing, but the holes are still present on the back.
It is very sturdy.
Great for your own bookcase, as decoration, or even as a towel rack.
