An iconic dining table in the at 310 model, designed by hans j. Wegner and manufactured by the well-respected furniture manufacturer andreas tuck in odense, denmark.
the unusual and very stylish dining table was designed in the 1950s and has become a true design classic over time. The table is an excellent example of danish design at its very best, with a well-balanced combination of function, aesthetics, material feel and solid craftsmanship.
hans j. Wegner originally trained as a cabinetmaker, something that is clearly visible in his great understanding of the properties of wood, furniture construction and the importance of craftsmanship. During his long and very successful career, he designed more than 500 pieces of furniture and came to play a decisive role in the international breakthrough of danish modernism. Wegner worked with great respect for the materials and strived to combine the functional with the beautiful and comfortable. The result was a series of timeless furniture that is still endlessly sought after today. In many contexts, he is considered one of the greatest danish designers of all time.
the table top is made of teak and has softly rounded edges and corners that give the table an elegant and modern expression. The warm color tone and beautiful grain of the top highlight the natural character of the wood and contribute to the exclusive feel of the table.
the legs and leg stand are made of oak and are very finely crafted. The round legs are elegantly angled and give the table a cocky attitude that really catches the eye. On our table, the oak has a slightly darker tone, which creates a soft contrast in both color and grain between the two types of wood. The combination of teak and oak, together with the table's elaborate construction, gives the well-known and much-sought-after expression of danish design.
the table comes with two extension leaves that can be easily stored under the tabletop when not in use. They are thus always close at hand and make it possible to quickly adjust the size of the table according to the occasion and number of guests. With both extension leaves in place, eight to ten people can comfortably sit around the table.
