Dating to the 1950s or 1960s, this mahogany coffee table is a Scandinavian piece from the mid-20th century. The rectangular top protrudes slightly from the frame and is defined by a rounded, molded edge; immediately below, a second molding runs along the perimeter band, accentuating the thickness and presence of the top. The four legs, thinner and almost square in cross-section, are inserted into the band through shaped, curved joints, particularly visible at the corners. Lower down, a thin rectangular shelf is inserted directly between the legs, without echoing the more elaborate workmanship of the top. The contrast between the more structured top and the essential design of the base, along with the warm tones of the mahogany, defines the character of the piece. Good condition. May show signs of wear. Please refer to the photographs carefully. See less
