The grey-green stone top has developed a … Read more Small coffee table by Peter Draenert, combining fossil-bearing slate with brushed stainless steel. The grey-green stone top has developed a patinated surface, with subtle fossil impressions, tonal variations and natural irregularities that give the material added depth. The two curved runners make the substantial top appear almost weightless. Draenert used this type of oil shale in his early table designs from the late 1960s onwards.
