A refined pair of ivory and brown glass wall sconces in the Art Deco style, by the English firm Andy Thornton, designed in the 1970s. The pair features a truncated conical, fan-shaped form, with the upper part more open to direct the light. The shades are made using stained glass techniques, from small pieces of glass joined together to resemble leaded glass, but with modern techniques, probably the Tiffany method, in which the glass fragments are joined by wrapping their edges with copper tape and then soldering them with tin. On the back, there are two metal brackets that secure the support, hold the bulbs, and allow for wall mounting. The wiring has been recently renewed, and the pair of wall lights is fully functional.
