Presenting a magnificent and highly decorative set of four vintage Chinese hardwood hanging panels. Crafted from dense, richly grained Huali Rosewood with a beautiful, warm reddish-brown patina, these panels celebrate the classical Chinese theme of the "Four Gentlemen" (梅兰竹菊)—Plum Blossom, Orchid, Bamboo, and Chrysanthemum.

Each panel is exquisitely adorned with vibrant Mother-of-Pearl and Abalone shell inlay, depicting a delicate floral scene with birds. The plum blossom represents resilience, the orchid elegance, the bamboo integrity, and the chrysanthemum longevity. Each panel features a fan-shaped cartouche at the top, inlaid with a poem that praises the respective flower. The background features intricate inlaid borders.
