Description:
Presenting a magnificent and highly decorative matching pair of vintage Chinese hardwood pedestal tables (or flower stands). Crafted from dense, richly grained Huali Rosewood with a beautiful, warm reddish-brown patina, these tables feature a classic hexagonal form with slender legs resting on a solid, carved base.
The flat top surfaces are exquisitely inlaid with shimmering Mother-of-Pearl, depicting a charming "Magpie on a Plum Branch" (喜上眉梢) scene, symbolizing good news and happiness. The tops are bordered with a row of white pearl dots. The neck features delicate pierced openings, and the aprons are carved with intricate geometric fretwork. The base is centered with a large, deeply carved "Fu" (Fortune) character. Both are built using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery.
Condition: Excellent condition. The wood is solid and sturdy with a beautiful natural patina. All mother-of-pearl inlays are present and secure. The carved details are crisp. Minor surface wear consistent with age and use. No structural damage. Please refer to all photos for exact condition.
