Stunning 19th century German Black Forest hand-carved wooden decorative cross. This exquisite piece of folk art features an incredibly detailed, rustic design shaped like natural tree branches wrapped in beautifully rendered oak leaves, acorns, and intricately carved perched birds.
The craftsmanship is exceptional, showcasing the classic dimensional depth and layered feather textures characteristic of high-quality Black Forest woodcarvings. The base features an integrated, smooth hollowed well—probably originally intended as a ring dish or pocket watch holder.
