Barley Twist Wood Turning - most prominent feature is the helical, spiral-turned wood on the lower stretchers and the back posts. This distinctive style—often called a "barley sugar twist"—originally rose to massive popularity in England during the late 17th century before seeing a massive historicist resurgence in the late Victorian era.

Carved Lion Head Finials: The top corners of the back uprights feature hand-carved finials shaped like lion heads. In historic English furniture design, these zoomorphic carvings were highly sought after as a symbol of status, power, and heraldic heritage.

Fabric & Trim: The chairs are dressed in a vibrant paisley-patterned tapestry textile, finished with a subtle teal coordinate piping tape. The fabric and trim are in very good condition without stains or wear.

The frames of the chairs are sturdy and can be sat in. Approximate chair measurements are - seat height is 18”, seat width is 18”, seat depth is 17” at deepest point but seated area is 15” deep. Total height (to top of lions head) is 36.5”. Seat back is 16” wide and 11.5 “ in height. See less
