At the center, a large, softly iridescent pearl provides a dramatic focal point, flanked by two smaller pearls, each framed within quatrefoil-form gold settings.

The surrounding goldwork is particularly evocative, with finely modeled grotesque and character masks rendered in high relief. Each face is individually articulated, displaying distinctive expressions and period-inspired coiffures or headdresses, giving the brooch an almost theatrical quality.
