More decorative object than conventional hardware, the piece has a strong architectural quality and works beautifully as a singular accent in a library, entry hall, dressing room, bar or collected interior.

The piece was acquired in 2016 from the liquidation of an Oklahoma interior decorator’s extensive collection of furnishings and decorative arts. The collection included numerous specialty and designer-sourced objects. No identifying maker’s mark has been located on this example, and it is therefore being offered without attribution.

A distinctive object with wonderful presence and an intentionally aged surface.
