This is from the Rushville … Read more This is a beautiful 1920 or 1930's Art Deco Chifferobe, also called a gentleman's dresser.

This is from the Rushville Furniture Company that was established in 1893 in Rushville Indiana. They were known for manufacturing quality bedroom suites, chifferobes, and tables. Several fires impacted their factory and they overlapped production with the Park Furniture Company in later years.

This piece is stamped with the Rushville Furniture Company label. Over time, the ink in the handwritten section has faded and worn.

The piece has wood veneers, but I think most of this piece is constructed of burl walnut. The diagonal wood grain on the smaller drawers and the central carved floral stripe show off classic Art Deco styling.

The drop ring handles are original.
The wheels are original but roll nicely if you are slow and patient.

Two small cabinets and two smaller drawers on top. Three larger drawers on the bottom.
