Original lithograph by Roger Wittevrongel (born in Blankenberge in 1933) depicting a partially undressed woman; this is a lithograph from 1984, part of an edition of 99 (this is number 79), signed, numbered, and dated in pencil, and framed behind glass by a local art dealer.
Roger Wittevrongel trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent and also qualified as a teacher of visual arts; for many years, he taught etching, drawing, and lithography techniques at the academy in Ghent.
He is known for his hyper-realistic drawings of people, objects, still lifes, or interiors—but primarily women, often nude or partially undressed. He is considered the leading representative of hyper-realism in Belgium.
His work is held in various museum collections, including MuZEE, S.M.A.K., the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp, and the Flemish Art Collection.
