Signed "C. Muller". A very beautiful, light-filled landscape with great depth. In the background on the right, dancing Italians bring movement to the tranquil, contemplative rural life of the Campagna. The vibrant watercolor is framed with a wide ink border. - The genre and portrait painter K.F. Müller was a student of Cornelius in Munich and of Ingres in Paris, whom he followed to Rome in 1837, where he remained until 1848. from then on, Müller worked in Stuttgart, Paris, and Frankfurt am Main. - The sheet is slightly wavy and has a minor crease in the lower left corner. Finest watercolor/gouache, approx. 23.8 x 32.4 cm, mounted on cardboard. This piece is designed in the style of the selected designer and/or manufacturer
