An original oil painting on canvas, signed in the lower right corner “m.j. Bouduin. ’76,” dated 1976.
the work depicts an expressive, grotesque clown figure. The distinctive, heavily distorted facial features, intense colors, and bold, free brushwork give the composition a vivid, theatrical character. Of particular interest are the contrasting shades of navy blue, blue, orange, and red, as well as the intentionally exaggerated proportions of the face.
a painting by the belgian artist marie-jeanne bouduin (1940/41–2013). Her artistic career is documented in belgian sources, and her name appears, among other places, in the catalog of the centre de la gravure et de l'image imprimée. Bouduin exhibited both paintings and prints; in 1982, her works were featured in the exhibition “grafiek en schilderijen van marie-jeanne bouduin,” and her painting was also selected for the jozef storme-prijs voor schilderkunst exhibition.it is worth noting that the materials currently available regarding the artist pertain primarily to her prints. Her prints have appeared on the secondary market, including the etching “soleil levant” offered for 175 € and a colored etching from 1985 offered for 55 €.

the large, decorative format and highly distinctive style make this an interesting opportunity for collectors of 20th-century belgian art, figurative and expressive painting, and works from the 1970s. I would set this price of 1,090 € as the starting bid on pamono. I wouldn’t include “confirmed authorship” in the title, but rather “marie-jeanne bouduin,” with a cautious note in the that the attribution is based on the signature. This is safer and more honest given the current state of the documentation. This piece has an attribution mark,
i am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity
