The frame is flat and wide, the side panels remain narrow, and a low panel runs along the back, framing the seating area without enclosing it. The back cushions rest loosely on this panel—voluptuously filled and significantly higher than the panel, which softens the otherwise austere design. The seating arrangement is supported by flat, dark metal runners that extend far out, visibly lifting the frame off the floor. The taupe-colored woven fabric softens the overall look: a warm tone between gray and brown that blends more seamlessly into existing interiors than pure gray. The seat cushions are shallowly quilted and unusually deep, so that one sits into them rather than on them. To the left, the sofa opens into a generous, backless chaise longue—together with the long chaise section, this creates a continuous reclining surface that wraps around the corner.
