A striking and unusually large West German vintage coffee table featuring a thick smoked glass top and elegant chromed tubular steel frame. Produced in West Germany by Huwa-Spiegel Parsol, this exceptional table perfectly captures the minimalist, architectural character of 1970s German design. The combination of dark smoked glass, polished chrome and softly rounded corners creates a sophisticated Bauhaus / Space Age / Postmodern aesthetic.
The generous proportions make this a particularly impressive statement piece, ideal for a spacious living room, design studio, office, lounge or contemporary interior. The beautifully rounded tubular frame and clean geometric silhouette are reminiscent of the work of Rodney Kinsman and OMK, while the overall design reflects the functionalist principles and futuristic aesthetic associated with West German furniture design of the period. The table has a very elegant visual lightness despite its impressive size. The smoked glass creates a beautiful contrast with the reflective chrome frame and works particularly well with mid-century modern, Bauhaus, Space Age and contemporary interiors. Condition Good vintage condition. The smoked glass top is in good condition with some light signs of age and use. The chromed steel frame is in very good vintage condition, with only minor signs of wear and a few tiny areas of oxidation/rust consistent with its age. The frame is structurally sound, stable and fully usable.
