The table features one cleverly concealed extension leaf stored inside the tabletop . To extend the table, the two sides of the top simply pull apart, revealing the folded extension stored within. The extension then opens like the wings of a butterfly , creating a larger dining surface while retaining the elegant proportions of the original round design. The teak has a rich, beautifully figured grain , with natural variation and movement across the tabletop that gives the piece a strong and stand-out Mid-Century character. A wonderful example of 1960s Danish furniture , combining the warmth and beauty of teak with an ingenious and practical extending mechanism. The table has been completely restored by our professional restorers , carefully bringing back the warmth, depth and natural beauty of the teak . It has been refinished to enhance the vibrant grain while preserving the character of this beautiful vintage piece. Please note that one side of the tabletop has a small repair to the edge . This has been carefully attended to and discreetly disguised by our professional restorers so that it blends naturally with the surrounding teak. We recommend zooming in on the photographs to appreciate the repair and see the condition in detail. For delivery, the table can be completely dismantled , making it easier and safer to transport. It is very easy to dismantle and assemble , with the process being straightforward and requiring no specialist knowledge.
