This sculpture takes the forms and innovations of russian artists such as naum gabo and vladimir tatlin from the beginning of the 20th century. These so-called constructivists wanted art to directly reflect the new industrial world, described by tatlin 'as a purely technical mastery and organisation of materials.' nahum villèlia is the son of moises villèlia (1928-1994), who was a prominent spanish artist who explored floating forms in space, in the manner of alexander calder and inspired by conceptualism.
