Gorgeous walnut mirror carved in the Black Forrest style. From the 19th century, possibly earlier, with original round mercury mirror and thermometer. Mirror has foxing and top portion of thermometer is missing. Previously owned by a serious French collector who had it professionally restored at one point. Faces carved on the top and bottom with griffins carved on either side. Has original sturdy hanger in back.
Provenance: central California antique store that purchased entire collection of French antiques from a local collector.
