Description:
Presenting a magnificent and highly decorative vintage Chinese hardwood cabinet. Crafted from dense, richly grained Huali Rosewood with a beautiful, warm reddish-brown patina and clear "ox-hair" grain, this chest features a classic layout: two drawers at the top, a pair of double doors in the middle, and three drawers at the bottom.
The drawer fronts are intricately carved with continuous scrolling vine motifs. The two central doors are exquisitely carved in deep relief with "Antiques" (博古清供图) motifs—elegant vases, brush pots, incense burners, and books—set within geometric fretwork borders, symbolizing scholarly refinement. Each drawer and door is fitted with aged bronze/iron lock plates. The chest rests on a stepped base with brass corner guards.
Condition: Excellent condition. The wood is solid with a beautiful natural patina. All carved details are crisp and intact. The drawers and doors slide smoothly. Minor surface wear and slight oxidation to the hardware, consistent with age and use. No structural damage. Please refer to all photos for exact condition.
