For your consideration is a stunning, beautifully matched set of five (5) vintage Neoclassical style dining side chairs. This set is perfectly configured as a core dining arrangement of four (4) chairs, plus one (1) additional matching accent chair—ideal for use at a writing desk, in an entryway, or pulled up to the table for extra dinner guests.
Design & Style Features
Wood & Finish: Crafted from high-quality solid mahogany featuring a deep, rich reddish-brown tone and a fine grain structure. The original protective varnish shows a beautiful, authentic "alligatoring" texture across the surface, giving the set a gorgeous, genuine antique patina.
Silhouette: Designed in the elegant Klismos tradition with deeply contoured, concave incurved backrests that sweep gracefully into dramatic flared rear saber legs.
Front Legs: Sophisticated S-curved cabriole front legs terminating in classic carved scroll feet.
Splat: A highly decorative, traditional carved urn / vasiform center back splat.
Upholstery: Outfitted in a classic multi-colored plaid fabric (red, cream, and green tones) that contrasts beautifully with the dark mahogany wood.
Condition
Very good vintage condition. Frames are structurally sound and stable. The wood finish displays a heavily crackled, aged lacquer patina ("alligatoring") consistent with vintage/antique age, adding historical character. Upholstery is clean and free of major defects.
