This extra-tall vintage table lamp combines elaborate Old World craftsmanship with a lighter, more relaxed transitional presentation. Rising approximately 35 inches to the top of its oversized botanical finial, the lamp has the scale and architectural presence needed for a substantial console, large nightstand, living-room end table or executive office.
The sculptural urn-form body is enveloped in deeply modeled acanthus foliage. True openings between the curling leaves produce pronounced depth, shadow and movement, allowing the botanical design to remain visually engaging from every angle. Soft taupe and silvery highlights accentuate the raised foliage against the darker recessed areas.
Below the urn, a turned pedestal and ornamental beaded collar transition into a broad stepped square plinth. The finish combines espresso brown, burnished bronze and softly rubbed warm undertones. Subtle variation, gentle wear and areas of patina give the lamp the character of a collected vintage object.
For this Refined Transitional presentation, the lamp is paired with a new beige faux-linen hardback empire shade. Its softly textured neutral surface lightens the substantial carved body, while the clean tapered silhouette provides a tailored counterpoint to the elaborate acanthus ornament. When illuminated, the warm interior produces a gentle, inviting glow.
The shade’s approximately 18-inch lower diameter provides appropriate visual balance for the lamp’s unusually tall proportions. Its lower edge is positioned to conceal the socket and electrical hardware, allowing the dark turned neck and pierced urn body to remain the focus.
