This tapestry illustrates the falconry, one of the most common themes of the middle ages.
The scene takes place in a garden. The characters wear costumes in vogue in the early fifteenth century with large coats lined with ermine. It evokes the refined style of 1400.
They wear a doublet fitted and short, leaving their legs wearing stockings and boots.
As well as shoes that are in fashion since the late fourteenth century.
A man wearing a glove is holding 2 falcons in his right hand. It is not a hunting scene but a conventional representation highlighting the aristocratic membership.
Another man is watching him with a spear in his right hand and holding two dogs with a leash.
The composition is clear and balanced. The decorative aspect of the tapestry is marked by the dark blue abstract background and the presence of flowers and trees that invade the whole surface of the scene. We can see a rabbit in the middle of this scene.
The rich borders are with birds and grapes.
