About the Artist:Born in Peekskill, NY, Rudolph Colao was a prominent 20th-century American traditional realist. A WWII veteran, he studied under Frank Vincent DuMond at the Art Students League of New York and went on to teach there as well as at the Scottsdale Artists School in Arizona. He was a member of the Allied Artists of America and the Rockport Art Association, winning the Grand Prize at the Washington Square Art Exhibit in 1960 and the Excellence in Painting award in 1995.
