The floral design blazes with the saturated, vibrant palette that is the signature of the Karabagh tradition — bright green, orange, red, pink, and yellow blooms that create a composition of painterly richness and warmth.

The khaki-colored border with its small geometric designs provides a quiet counterpoint to the energetic central field — a classic Karabagh compositional strategy in which the border serves as a frame rather than a competitor to the central design. The Karabagh region of the southern Caucasus — a mountainous territory of extraordinary cultural richness shared between Armenia and Azerbaijan — produced some of the most vibrantly colored and boldly designed rugs and kilims in the Caucasian weaving tradition. Karabagh weavers were renowned above all for their use of intense, saturated natural dye colors, their exuberant floral compositions — often compared to French Impressionist paintings — and the sheer visual energy that defines the finest pieces from this celebrated region.
