Vintage American rag runner from the early 1900s in a wonderful modern design pattern and a rainbow of brilliant colors. The design of this early 20th century runner consists of a central wide band having two narrow bands on each side of it set on a wheat color background. It has a gorgeous color pattern. The combination makes a wonderful vintage color and design pattern runner.
The Amish and Mennonite communities in Pennsylvania wove these runners mainly for their own use using the material that they had on hand. It is a beautiful example of an upcycling and reuse of material that has utilitarian functions but is also a representation of the art and culture that is woven into it. This American Amish Rag Runner is in stripe design and has a very modern design format and can be incorporated into any modern interior design project.
