This marvelous framed print of the Sovereign of the Seas, British Naval Warship as it appeared in 1637 was printed … Read more This marvelous framed print of the Sovereign of the Seas, British Naval Warship as it appeared in 1637 was printed in the 1980s and has 100 year color guarantee. It was titled "Sovereign of the Seas, 100 guns, launched in Woolwich, 1637." This beautiful print was originally purchased at the National British Maritime Museum in Greenwich, then framed in the US. Sovereign of the Seas was an original painting of Willem Van De Velde, the Elder and was then copied, engraved and printed by John Payne 1637. This beautiful print shows the largest ship at the time, commissioned by King Charles I. The beautiful gold gilt frame is trimmed with black velvet and there is a light blue mat, surrounding the print with a glass overlay. Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Frame Height from top to bottom=25 inches, Width side to side=29 inches, Depth front to back=2 inches. This marvelous gold gilt frame with ancient warship print has been well cared for, gently displayed and is in excellent vintage condition. Frame is sturdy and free from chips, cracks or other imperfections with velvet and mat clean, without discoloration or damage. The print is beautifully clear without tears, stains or discoloration.
