This marvelous framed print of John Speed's map of the world as it appeared in 1626 was printed in the … Read more This marvelous framed print of John Speed's map of the world as it appeared in 1626 was printed in the 1980s and has 100 year color guarantee. It was titled "A New and Accurate World." It was originally purchased at the National British Maritime Museum in Greenwich, then framed in the US. This beautiful print shows both Northern, Southern hemispheres, as well as "end of the earth" as they knew it in 1626. The beautiful gold gilt frame is trimmed with black velvet and there is a light blue mat, surrounding the print with a glass overlay. Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Frame Height from top to bottom=25 inches, Width side to side=29 inches, Depth front to back=2 inches. This marvelous gold gilt frame with world map print has been well cared for, gently displayed and is in excellent vintage condition. Frame is sturdy and free from chips, cracks or other imperfections with velvet and mat clean, without discoloration or damage. The print is beautifully clear without tears, stains or discoloration.
