It is an awesome strong and powerful looking piece of furniture. It is a rectangular case with four drawers on reeded pilaster stiles and block feet, hardwood construction with overall olive-gold painted and silver highlighted finish.
The drawer fronts are engraved with scrolling acanthus and foliate arabesque panels, matching the engraved border on the top surface, round cast metal bail pulls, sides with engraved foliate cartouche panels. Even the inside and outside of internal drawers are finished in silver.
There are a few imperfections as seen in the photographs, but really, they add to the character and uniqueness of the piece. It is estimated to be mid to late 20th century.
