This exceptionally preserved parcel-gilt .950 silver sugar dredge spoon is an authentic Parisian decorative artifact produced between 1838 and 1843 by master silversmith Charles-Antoine-Armand Lenglet, preserved intact within its original fitted presentation case (écrin).
Operating at 32 rue de Bourg-l'Abbé prior to transferring his firm to Pierre-François-Augustin Turquet in 1843/1844, Lenglet created high-order neoclassical table appointments for Parisian society. The spoon displays superb proportion: an intricate, pierced starburst-patterned bowl finished in rich vermeil, anchored by an anthemion heel drop, and matched to a reeded handle. It carries both the maker's registered lozenge punch (C A L, lion, star) and the official French 1st Standard Minerva mark (.950 silver purity).
The piece is complete with its fitted antique presentation box—lined in contoured velvet and silk with working brass latch hardware—making it an ideal decorative focal point for a bar cart, dessert display, or tabletop silver collection.
