The large porcelain body features two different paintings: one side depicts an elegant 18th-century courting scene with a seated lady and gentleman, while the reverse is painted with a romantic pastoral landscape with water, trees and distant architecture. The figural scene is artist signed “Marius” near the lower portion of the painting.

Additional decoration includes extensive gilt floral and scrollwork ornament against cream and pink grounds. Particularly striking are the elaborate scrolling acanthus-form gilt-metal handles flanking the porcelain body, along with decorative metal mounts at the neck, base and lower body.

The lamp measures approximately 31” high x 12 1/2” wide x 10” deep.

Estate-fresh condition with expected age-related wear and patina. One of the decorative handles is somewhat loose. The two sockets do not match: one has a pull-chain switch and the other a rotary/dial switch. These appear to be later replacement sockets rather than original components. Wiring and electrical components should be inspected by a qualified person prior to use. No shade or finial is included. Please examine photographs carefully for condition and details.
