original extendable table, designed by svend aage madsen and manufactured by k. Knudsen & søn in denmark in the 1960s. This rare dining table is the more compact, smaller version of the design and impresses with its harmonious proportions and the exceptionally high-quality craftsmanship for which k. Knudsen & søn is known. The softly rounded shapes, finely crafted details, and elegant construction make it an outstanding example of danish mid-century design.

the table features a high-quality teak veneer and two integrated extension leaves that are stored compactly under the tabletop. The extension mechanism is particularly elegant: the transitions to the tabletop are mitered, resulting in an extremely fine, barely visible joint when extended. Rounded corners, softly tapered edges, and the solid, also rounded, teak legs underscore the organic design language.

condition: expertly refinished surface. The teak veneer is in excellent vintage condition with very few signs of wear and a beautiful, authentic patina. A high-quality, rare danish design classic with a sophisticated extension mechanism and timeless elegance.

the table is veneered in beautifully figured teak and features two original extension leaves that are neatly concealed beneath the tabletop when not in use. A particularly refined detail is the precision-mitred connection between the tabletop and extension leaves, creating an exceptionally narrow and discreet joint when extended. Rounded corners, softly profiled edges and elegantly shaped solid teak legs complete the harmonious design.
