Its distinctive quadrangular silhouette is crafted from beautiful cobalt blue mirrored glass, finely beveled and polished, creating both the frame and the foundation for a captivating composition of layered concentric mirrored circles. The hypnotic circular motif gives this Italian mirror a distinctly Space Age aesthetic, while its bold geometric form makes it much more than a functional mirror. It would make a wonderful statement piece in an entryway, bathroom, bedroom, or living room, and could equally be appreciated as a decorative wall installation or sculptural piece of Italian design. Although the exact designer or manufacturer is unknown to us, its Italian origin is certain. We discovered the mirror in Rome, where our business is based. Its sophisticated use of mirrored and colored glass recalls the work of iconic Italian glass manufacturers of the Mid-Century Modern period, including Fontana Arte and Veca. The mirror is in overall good vintage condition, intact and free from cracks or chips. It does, however, show normal signs of age and use consistent with its history, including areas of oxidation, which are visible in the photographs. A distinctive example of 1970s Italian Space Age design, this cobalt blue glass mirror would be an eye-catching addition to both contemporary and vintage interiors.
