Antique French Art Deco Chrome Banker's Lamp Inset with Purple Stained Glass Panels & A Boom Arm Pivotable Shade - 1930s, Made in France
This is a striking vintage Art Deco banker’s desk lamp, with a particularly substantial and architectural form.
The lamp features a polished chromed body, with a tall, slender rectangular column rising from a broad, stepped circular pedestal. The base is heavily weighted and highly reflective, giving the piece a luxurious, almost machine-age character typical of Art Deco lighting.
The most distinctive feature is the wide, angular geometric shade. It has a shallow, almost trapezoidal profile with a raised central ridge, creating a strong symmetrical silhouette. The shade appears to be metal with warm copper-coloured panels or copper-toned reflective interiors, which contrast beautifully with the cooler silver metal.
