Produced in a limited edition through the designer’s own atelier, the lamp is a distinctive example of van den nieuwelaar’s precise, minimalist approach to lighting. Contemporary examples and period-market documentation consistently identify the design as an abn commission and note its limited production.

the design is constructed around a transparent cylindrical acrylic glass base supporting a broad white translucent shade. The clear base gives the lamp an unusually light visual presence, allowing the internal structure to remain visible while creating the impression that the shade is suspended above the surface. A circular transparent foot reinforces the geometry of the composition.

the shade itself is defined by a low, wide profile with sloping upper surfaces and a continuous vertical edge. Its restrained form contrasts with the transparency of the base while softly diffusing the light.
