The seams are stitched on the outside, so every edge is exposed and finished rather than turned in and hidden. The result stands on its own — rigid walls, defined corners, a silhouette that does not soften with use the way a Retourne does.

Epsom is the leather that makes that work. It is calfskin embossed under heat, so the cross-hatch grain is pressed into the hide rather than grown out of it, which leaves the surface firm, scratch-resistant, and able to hold a crisp edge indefinitely. Pairing it with Sellier is not a styling decision; it is what keeps those corners square years in. Bleu Glacier is a pale, cool blue, and Epsom's flat, uniform finish carries it evenly across every panel without the tonal drift a grained leather introduces.

Gold hardware is the warm counterweight — the one element in the bag that is not cold.
