Each large pedestal-form urn features a hand-painted romantic figural interior scene on one side and a colorful floral bouquet on the reverse. The bodies are richly highlighted with broad areas of gold, gilt trim, and unusual molded ornamental handles terminating in sculptural mask or foliate details. Square pedestal bases complete the substantial architectural form.

The pair displays beautifully and has a wonderful old, untouched appearance. There is considerable age-related rubbing and wear to the gilding, particularly around the rims, bases and projecting areas, consistent with their age. I also noted a small chip on the underside of one rim edge; please see close-up photograph. There may be other minor surface wear, firing imperfections, scratches or small losses consistent with antique porcelain of this age. No maker’s marks were observed.

Each measures approximately 12.25” high x 9” wide x 9” deep.
