Ash veneered and solid, inlaid with bog … Read more Set of 4 extraordinary biedermeier balloon chairs from austria / vienna, circa 1900. Ash veneered and solid, inlaid with bog oak and mahogany. Wonderful, balloon-like shape of the backrest. Restored condition with shellac hand polish (french polish). Second biedermeier, built around 1880-1900 (so called second biedermeier) in the style of early biedermeier (1820). Newly upholstered in traditional method with brown-gray velvet by jab with surrounding double keder. Great seating comfort. Dimensions: h 88 cm, seat-h 50 cm, w 50 cm, d 50 cm. See less
