This is a vintage wall-mounting rotary telephone molded in glossy black Bakelite, featuring an integrated handset cradle, a standard rotary dial with white numbering, a blank number window above the dial, and a coiled handset cord.
Manufactured by the Swedish telecommunications company L.M. Ericsson, this wall-mounted model was originally designed in the 1930s by pioneering industrial designer Jean Heiberg and produced through the 1950s. Known under model designations such as the DBN 1301 and widespread variants produced for European telecom operators like the Dutch PTT, it marked a turning point in modern electronics by integrating internal components into a single Bakelite housing. Today, these phones are widely collected for their iconic mid-century industrial design and classic Art Deco-influenced forms.
