Its compact 48-inch width provides generous storage without overwhelming a home office, study, library, or creative workspace.
The desk features nine drawers, including a shallow center drawer, graduated utility drawers, and deep lower file drawers fitted with metal hanging-file rails. Two pull-out writing slides extend the work surface and are useful for reference materials, a laptop, or additional writing space. Sculptural wooden pulls, paneled pedestal ends, and richly figured oak grain give the piece a handsome traditional character.
The paneled, finished back allows the desk to be positioned away from a wall and used as a true executive desk. Well-built, functional, and sized especially well for a home office or apartment.
Maker is unknown. The desk appears to date from approximately the 1940s–1950s.

The writing slides and drawers appear clean and functional. The desktop has visible scratches, finish wear, and scattered surface marks consistent with age and use, as shown in the photographs. Additional minor scuffs and edge wear may be present. No major structural damage is visible. See less
