This is the highly sought-after, bench-made 'Zhang' sideboard from David & Daniel Design. It features a stunning, multi-layer bright green crackle-lacquer finish with beautiful factory-distressed aging, anchored by heavy, premium inset neutral marble top slabs.
Features 9 drawers with original traditional metal ring pulls and a dual-door central cabinet secured by an oversized medallion faceplate and magnetic latches.
An artisan, heavily distressed jade green lacquered finish beautifully highlights the natural wood beneath. The top is uniquely inset with polished marble stones, lending it a timeless, substantial feel, and are beautifully integrated into the wooden frame with a flush inset seam. The layout is modeled directly after classic Asian coffer-style apothecary cabinets.
This sideboard was produced in a limited commercial batch for Neiman Marcus's catalog, and it is rare to see one on the secondary market and in excellent condition like this. Due to the heavy import tariffs and supply chain challenges currently affecting newly imported solid-wood and stone furniture from overseas, a brand-new equivalent from a luxury showroom today would command a massive retail premium.
Designed with an abundance of storage, the chest features five functional upper/side drawers with traditional brass ring pulls. The central double doors open to a spacious cabinet cavity, secured internally by hidden magnetic latches. The exterior features an authentic heavy bronze medallion faceplate and Crackle-Lacquer Glaze (A multi-layered, hand-applied painted glaze designed to mimic historic, weathered Asian antiques).
