Original watercolor and ink painting attributed to Michael Smiroldo (American, b. 1946), an artist known for his expressive depictions of New Orleans jazz musicians and street life.
This vibrant composition depicts a jazz trombonist in performance, rendered in Smiroldo’s distinctive loose, energetic style. Rich blues, greens, oranges, and yellows combine with fluid black linework to convey the movement and spontaneity of a live jazz performance.
The artwork is signed “Smiroldo” at the lower right and measures approximately 23 × 15 inches (visible artwork). It is presented under glass in a simple metal frame.
