DESCRIPTION
Rich in texture, symmetry, and artisan detail, the RH Rajouri Silk & Wool Rug draws inspiration from ancient Tibetan symbols, translating their geometric forms into a sophisticated contemporary textile.
A repeating arrangement of concentric rectangles creates Rajouri's distinctive architectural pattern. Rather than relying on bold color contrast, the design is defined through variations in pile, texture, and luster, giving the rug a beautifully dimensional appearance that subtly changes with surrounding light and viewing angle.
Masterfully hand knotted and hand carved by artisans in Nepal, Rajouri combines hand-spun wool with fine silk to create a dense, exceptionally soft pile. The natural contrast between the matte warmth of wool and the luminous quality of silk brings depth and movement to the understated Sand palette.
Previously used for upscale staging, this rug presents in beautiful condition with no issues to note. It has been professionally cleaned by K.A. Menendian Rug Gallery, one of the country's established specialists in fine rugs, and is refreshed and placement ready.

Rajouri's repeating geometric motif provides architectural structure without overwhelming a space. Its warm neutral palette and subtle sheen make it particularly well suited to interiors incorporating travertine, limestone, marble, plaster, warm oak, walnut, bronze, linen, bouclé, leather, and other natural materials.

COLOR OVERVIEW
Sand
Sand is a sophisticated, warm neutral with nuanced tonal movement created by the interaction of wool, silk, pile direction, and surrounding light.
Depending on the viewing angle and lighting, the rug may shift between tones of warm ivory, oatmeal, natural beige, flax, and soft sand. The silk elements reflect light differently from the wool, allowing the geometric pattern to become more or less pronounced as the perspective changes.
These variations are part of the character of a luxury hand-knotted silk and wool rug rather than inconsistencies in coloration.

MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTION
Hand-Spun Wool & Fine Silk
• Masterfully hand knotted in Nepal
• Hand carved by skilled artisans
• Dense, exceptionally soft pile
• Hand-spun wool provides warmth, texture, and depth
• Fine silk introduces softness and natural luster
• Concentric geometric design inspired by ancient Tibetan symbolism
• Artisan construction creates subtle variations unique to each rug
The interplay between matte wool and luminous silk is central to Rajouri's design. Changes in pile height, direction, and fiber luster allow the geometric motif to emerge organically across the surface rather than appearing as a flat printed pattern.
────────────────────────────
ARTISAN CHARACTER
Rajouri is individually crafted by hand using natural fibers. Subtle variations in weave, pile height, carving, texture, shading, sheen, and dimensions are inherent to the artisan process.
Silk is particularly responsive to light and pile direction, so areas may appear lighter or darker when viewed from different directions. Gentle tonal movement and changes in surface appearance are characteristic of fine hand-knotted silk and wool rugs and contribute to the individuality of each piece.

CONDITION
Beautiful Staging Condition | Professionally Cleaned
Previously used in an upscale staging environment, this rug presents in beautiful overall condition with no condition issues to note.
The rug has been professionally cleaned by K.A. Menendian Rug Gallery, a highly regarded specialist in the care and cleaning of fine rugs, and has been fully refreshed for its next placement.
Following professional cleaning, select areas of the pile may currently have a slightly firmer hand or minor compression, particularly within the silk-rich surface. This can occur as the fibers settle following the cleaning and drying process. The pile should naturally become more relaxed and supple with placement, gentle use, and normal foot traffic.
As with any previously staged furnishing, minor traces of prior placement, handling, transportation, or storage may be present upon very close inspection; however, nothing detracts from the rug's beautiful overall presentation.
Natural variations in shading, sheen, texture, pile direction, and hand-carved detail are inherent to the rug's handcrafted silk and wool construction and should not be considered condition issues.
Overall, Rajouri is beautifully preserved, professionally cleaned, refreshed, and placement ready.
────────────────────────────
CARE
Vacuum regularly using a low-power setting without a beater bar.
Blot spills immediately with a clean, absorbent cloth. Avoid rubbing the pile, which can alter the appearance of delicate silk fibers.
Professional cleaning by a specialist experienced with hand-knotted silk and wool rugs is recommended when deeper cleaning is required.
Rotate periodically to encourage even wear and minimize prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
A rug pad is recommended for added cushioning, stability, and protection of both the rug and flooring.
